After winning so many matches finally Mumbai Indians faced defeat against Royal Challengers Bangalore. RCB had to accomplish a target of 142 runs in order to win over Mumbai Indians and they brilliantly performed their roles. The partnership between Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli turned out to be very fruitful.  Gayle quickens up his 50 in just 36 balls and also he had more inflow of boundaries during this time period. This was all soon after Dilshan's wicket fall. 

Dilshan smashed three boundaries in his turtlish 25 balls innings as he further suplemented 48 runs for the opening wicket with Gayle. Off-spinner Pragyan Ojha intented Dilshan leg before in the ninth over to give Mumbai a crucial breakthrough. Bangalore openers take the visitors to 27 runs in five overs without taking any unnecessary risks.

Sent in to bat, Kieron Pollard (21 not out) and skipper Harbhajan Singh helped Mumbai post a competitive 141 with the loss of 6 wickets against Bangalore. Pollard and Harbhajan shared an unbeaten 41-run stand off 25 balls to boost the Mumbai innings in the end. Pollard smashed two huge sixes in his 13-ball blitzkrieg whereas Mumbai skipper hit three boundaries in his 12-ball whirlwind knock. Earlier, Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to field against the Mumbai.

Bangalore has made few changes in the game which included  Saurabh Tiwary, Vinay Kumar and Harshal Patel are incorporated in place of Abhimanyu Mithun, Asad Pathan and Parameshwaran.
